DOING HOMEWORK 做作業(yè)
Mother: Let&39;s get started on homework when we get home.
媽媽：咱們一到家就開(kāi)始寫作業(yè)。
We want to start the new semester off right!
新學(xué)期開(kāi)個(gè)好頭！
Child: Do I have to do homework?
寶寶：我一定要做作業(yè)么？
Mother: Yes, it is important to practice what you learned at school.
媽媽：是的，練習(xí)在學(xué)校學(xué)到的東西很重要。
What homework do you have today?
你今天有什么作業(yè)呀？
Child: I need to practice my spelling words, read a book and complete the math problems.
寶寶：我需要練習(xí)單詞拼寫，讀一本書(shū)和完成數(shù)學(xué)題。
數(shù)學(xué)題的“題”既可以叫problem，也可以叫question，美式英語(yǔ)通常用problem，英式英語(yǔ)通常用question。
Mother: Okay, here are your workbooks and pencils.
媽媽：好的，給你練習(xí)冊(cè)和鉛筆。
Workbook是上面印有題的練習(xí)冊(cè)。
Come sit at your desk
坐到你的小書(shū)桌這兒，
and let me know if you need any help.
如果你需要幫助，就告訴我。
Child: Can I use my unicorn pencil?
寶寶：我能用我的獨(dú)角獸鉛筆嗎？
Mother: Of course you can,
媽媽：當(dāng)然可以，
and here is your rainbow eraser
還有你的彩虹橡皮，
in case we need to erase something and fix it.
以防有些東西需要擦掉和修改。
Child: Okay.
寶寶：好的。
? 10 minutes pass 十分鐘過(guò)去
Mom: Try not to play with your school supplies while you do your homework.
媽媽：寫作業(yè)的時(shí)候別玩文具。
You keep getting them all out and rearranging them.
你老是拿出來(lái)擺弄。
The more time you waste,
你浪費(fèi)的時(shí)間越多，
the longer your homework will take.
作業(yè)寫得越慢。
? 10 minutes pass 十分鐘過(guò)去
Mom: You only did a little writing.
媽媽：你就寫了這么一點(diǎn)。
Could you please stop doing things not related to homework?
你能別做和作業(yè)無(wú)關(guān)的事嗎？
? 20 minutes pass 二十分鐘過(guò)去
Child: I am done with all my spelling.
寶寶：我把單詞拼寫都做完了。
Mother: Let me check it.
媽媽：我來(lái)檢查一下。

I think your sentences using your spelling words are very good
我覺(jué)得你用單詞造的句子非常好，
but remember to put a capital letter at the beginning
但是記得開(kāi)頭的字母要大寫，
and a period at the end.
結(jié)尾要加一個(gè)句號(hào)。
Child: Okay, now can I read my book?
寶寶：好的，現(xiàn)在我能讀書(shū)了么？
Mom: You also need to fix your handwriting.
媽媽：你還需要修改一下你的書(shū)寫。
It looks great,
寫得挺好的，
but just remember to make the letters all the same size.
但是一定要把字都寫得一樣大。
如果寫中文作業(yè)，把letters換成characters。
Also, you have to look at the examples given by your teacher.
另外，你要看看老師給你的示范。
Child: How&39;s my s?
寶寶：我的s寫得怎么樣？
Mother: Good, but we can do better.
媽媽：挺好的，但是還能更好。
Remember to start at the top
記住要從上面開(kāi)始寫，
and curve down and around.
往下彎然后再轉(zhuǎn)彎。
The small s should start at the middle dotted line
小寫s要從中間的虛線開(kāi)始，
如下圖所示，美國(guó)小朋友使用的英語(yǔ)本與我們不同，使用國(guó)內(nèi)常用的四線英語(yǔ)本時(shí)，可以將the middle dotted line替換為the second line，將the bottom line替換為the third line。
and touch the bottom line.
然后到最后一條線。
The capital S touches the top and bottom lines.
大寫S要頂住上面和下面的線。
Use the dotted line in the middle to help you.
中間那條虛線可以幫助你。
Try a couple more to practice.
再多練幾個(gè)。
Remember to stay in the lines.
記住要寫在線里。
Child: It&39;s so hard.
寶寶：太難了。
I don&39;t want to do it.
我不想練了。
Mom: It is very important to learn to write
媽媽：學(xué)習(xí)寫字是非常重要的，
as you will use it every day in your life.
因?yàn)槟阍?strong>生活中每天都會(huì)用到。
We use it to write letters to family and friends
我們會(huì)用它給家人朋友寫信，
or write notes and lists to help us remember things.
或者做筆記和清單幫助我們記事。

Child: Is it okay now?
寶寶：現(xiàn)在行了嗎？
Mother: Yes, that&39;s much better.
媽媽：嗯，好多了。
Also, always try to make your book tidy.
另外，一定要保持書(shū)本整潔。
When you erase something, do it thoroughly.
擦東西的時(shí)候要擦干凈。
Be careful not to bend the edges of the paper.
小心點(diǎn)，別把紙卷邊了。
Child: Okay, I will.
寶寶：好的。
Mom: Now let&39;s do your reading homework.
媽媽：現(xiàn)在做你的讀書(shū)作業(yè)吧。
Child: Can we read it together?
寶寶：咱們能一起讀嗎？
Mom: Sure, and if there are any words you don&39;t understand, tell me.
媽媽：當(dāng)然，如果你有任何不理解的單詞就告訴我。
Child: Okay, thank you, Mommy.
寶寶：好的，謝謝你，媽媽。
